Liyu Sitota was born from faith, purpose, and a deep belief that every life is a gift from God. “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works” (Ephesians 2:10). I believe every person carries a divine story worth honoring and remembering.
Through Liyu Sitota, I create space for elders to share their testimonies, life lessons, and journeys of faith. This work allows them to be seen, valued, and celebrated while they are still with us. My prayer is that each story brings encouragement, healing, and inspiration to families and future generations.

Liyu Sitota, which means “Unique Gift” in Amharic, is rooted in honoring elders while they are still living. Through filmed life-story interviews and portrait photography, I help elders see the value of their lives, their wisdom, and the legacy they are leaving behind. I have already completed several of these projects, and the impact has been deeply moving—many elders become emotional seeing themselves honored in this way. My goal is to give people their flowers while they are still here to receive them.
